Bowling Bag Sling

This is the first crocheted item my husband has ever requested I make for him. The first one was made with Lion Brand Cotton and was to thick. The Patrons Grace was just the right thickness. If I make another one it will be shorter by about half and would only need 2 balls of yarn. The Green (Ginger) section is one complete skein. It was quicker to work up that I thought and would also make a nice tote bag.

I did spiral increase rounds for 13 rounds and followed by even rows. The handles are similar to the handles on the Super Self-Pouching String Shopping Bag.

Needle and yarn
Hook 3.75 mm (F)

Yarn
Patons Grace
1 skeins = 136.0 yards (124.4m) Azur Blue
1 skeins = 136.0 yards (124.4m) Spearmint
1 skeins = 136.0 yards (124.4m) Ginger

Granny Square Market Bag

I finished this Granny Square Market Bag with some modifications. The gusset and bottom piece was too long. I modified the gusset and bottom to fit the front and back squares. I posted the project details on http://www.ravelry.com/ and uploaded the picture to Flickr.com

I used Lion Cotton Yarn and a H-5.0mm hook.

Diagonal Lace Shawl Finished

I finished the shawl and uploaded pictures to Flickr and project details to Ravelry.com I'm stil not sure it turned out the way it was supposed to.

Diagonal Lace Shawl in progress

Diagonal Lace Shawl

Materials:
Naturally Caron Country
Color 0007 Naturally
(5 Balls 185 yds. each)

Size I (5.5 mm Wood Hook

Pattern Source:
March 2009 Crochet! Magazine

I’ve been trying to figure out this pattern for a while. The first version of this shawl I saw in the March 2009 Crochet! Magazine. I like the look of it but the pictures did not show the shape of it. I had some problems with the pattern so I looked online to see if anyone else had made the shawl and if they had any problems as well. I found an older version of the pattern with great pictures on eBay. I bought it and compared the two patterns.

At first look they seemed to be identical but as I started working the pattern again I found differences. The text of Row 8 on the older version made no sense at all. There are more differences in the pattern instruction in the Row 42 & 43 section. The differences don’t seem to matter. They only a slight difference in terms.

The major difference I found is that the old pattern ends at Row 49 while the new one proceeds to Row 56.

I hope to be able to figure out what works at that point.

I love the look of this shawl.

Lacy Spider Web Turtle Stitch Afghan

I started the Lacy Spider Web/Turtle Stitch Afghan April 10.

It is a variation of the Turtle Stitch pattern from "The Crochet Stitch Bible" and "Hooked Throws" by Margaret Hubert Delicate Web Wrap.

Bunny Purse

I put the finishing touches on Natalie's Easter purse. I used the Bunny Purse pattern by Sheila Leslie. The yellow yarn I had on hand was Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton. It will most likely be more durable than acrylic yarns. It was fun and fast to work up.

She did not get to go to church with us because Amanda and Brad had car trouble on the way back from Ottawa Saturday evening.  I hope gets to see all the things the Easter Bunny left for her today.

Lacy Shawl

I just finished the Lacy Shawl for the third time. Well 2 and a half. The green cotton one I finished and decided it was too long. I thought I had finally found a use for the Knit-Picks Crayon yarn I bought last year. The cream one out of Caron Country was about half done when I knew it would turn out much to long. I started again and skipped the fourth row of the 3rd, 4th, 5th row repeats. It is a pattern called "Easy Crocheted Triangle Lace Shawl" by Lily Chin.
